Every construction project is different and requires a site specific approach to managing environmental risk. Avoiding water pollution, minimising waste, dust, noise and nuisance to neighbours are critical.

Good onsite environmental management is based on proper planning and assessment of risk, taking into account factors such as the location and of the site, adjacent uses and features, climatic conditions and the construction activities that will be conducted.

SHAPE performs a risk assessment prior to commencing each project, which is captured in a project safety and environmental management plan.  Site based controls are implemented according to this risk assessment, which is regularly reviewed to reflect changes to site conditions, program and risk.

This process is supported by training and internal procedures and guidelines which form part of SHAPE’s environmental management system, which is certified to the ISO 14001 standard.
