The Building Cadet role

A SHAPE Building Cadet is a learning role supporting the project delivery teams during pre-construction, onsite throughout construction and post-construction to ensure client satisfaction.

We understand our cadets will be studying, so we will work with you to create a flexible working plan and accommodate university timetables and holidays.

The role will see you be responsible for assisting with:

- Estimating, tendering and bid submissions
- Document control
- Reviewing subcontracts
- Processing invoices
- Minuting subcontractor and client meetings
- Coordinating safety requirements on site
- Coordinating defect rectification
- Providing general admin support

THE SHAPE CADET DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE

Our Cadets not only participate in real work life at SHAPE, but also get a tailored learning plan to gain exposure to skills you can’t always learn in a text book. The experience will kick off with an induction week held in NSW to learn about SHAPE, your role, cover some basic training, and learn more about your personal tailored development plan.

LIFE AT SHAPE

When we ask SHAPIANs what makes SHAPE better, they always say ‘the people’ (and the snacks). Our vision is to be a ‘Great Place to Work’. That means we live by our values and take having fun VERY seriously. Our people support each other and work hard together, but also celebrate, laugh, learn, and dance together. While we’re a pretty close and relaxed bunch, we are focused on providing a superb customer experience. You will get exposure to fast paced commercial fit-outs and a variety of learning options.

You will also get access to our great suite of Benefits and Perks, depending on where you are located, you could have access to; a cricket pitch, pool tables, or a gym. All our offices have a fantastic coffee machine, ping-pong tables, a well-stocked fridge, and are full of people who like to have a good time.

Basically, if you can’t have a laugh at yourself then this is probably not the job for you.

We offer some amazing benefits and perks; read more about them.
