Australian Customs Dampier

A quality facility at a remote location

Australian Customs Services wanted to build a customs facility in Dampier, a regional area of WA. They needed a principal contractor with the expertise to manage a remote location, who could fast-track the project without impacting quality. We based our site manager onsite to ensure the program ran smoothly. Workers were hired from interstate and materials and resources sourced locally where possible.

Fast-tracked delivery

The program had to be accelerated by two months to meet the client’s deadline. SHAPE compressed the program by incorporating prefabricated components into the design, without compromising the integrity of the building. SHAPE also undertook detailed scheduling and programming to ensure the client’s tight timeframes could be met. The project was handed over on time and defect-free.

“This was a very challenging project and SHAPE were a pleasure to deal with. They dealt with each issue calmly, quickly and professionally. We look forward to the opportunity to work with SHAPE again.”
